Qatar Government Scholarships for Overseas Study
Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education runs a Government Scholarship Plan for Qatari nationals, including dedicated Emir's and External Scholarship tracks for study abroad.

Emir's Scholarship Program
For outstanding students with the highest high school grades, funding study at the top 24 universities worldwide (plus 5 local universities), with emphasis on vital specializations such as medicine and engineering.
External Scholarship Program
Funds study at universities ranked in the top 200 worldwide for the relevant specialization, across science, technology, education, sports, arts and literature.
Eligibility
What you need to apply.
- Qatari nationality — these government programs are exclusively for Qatari citizens.
- Strong academic performance in high school or previous university study.
- Admission to a university on the Ministry's approved list for your chosen track.
- Conditional offers may be submitted initially, but unconditional admission must be obtained once you meet the institution's requirements.
Scholarship benefits
Reported monthly stipends range from roughly QAR 4,000 for some local diploma programmes up to QAR 8,000 or more for overseas scholarships, plus travel allowances, flight tickets and tuition coverage. Exact amounts depend on your scholarship category.
